Araimish Malik — Artist Bio

Araimish Malik

"My work explores the dynamic tension between contrasting paradigms in nature — examining how duality and coexistence shape our understanding of evolution. I believe evolution is not a singular event, but a continuous process shaped by past, present, and future moments. Guided by the ancient wisdom of theosophy, I explore the delicate balance between spirit and matter, subject and object. There is no clear division between the spiritual and the material; both exist in constant, evolving dialogue. It is in this liminal space where the divine manifests, continuously unfolding into both the seen and unseen."

Araimish Malik is a Pakistani-born figurative artist based in the United Kingdom, whose practice bridges classical technique and philosophical inquiry. Inspired by the rich color palettes and dramatic compositions of the old masters, her paintings unravel the subconscious metamorphosis of the human psyche — rendering the fleeting bubbles of conscious thought through allegorical narratives, recurring archetypes, and imagery that transcends time.

Formally trained at the National College of Arts in Rawalpindi (BFA, 2018), Malik extended her classical foundations at the Florence Classical Arts Academy in Italy, completing an intensive one-year residency programme in 2019. She has since continued to deepen her craft through international study, most recently participating in a plein air workshop in the United States led by David McCamant, instructor at the Nevada Museum of Art.

Her works have been exhibited across Islamabad and Lahore, and internationally through a U.S.-based online gallery — reaching audiences far beyond borders, much like the timeless themes she explores.
